JULY 2025 FEATURE
TREND WATCH | SUMMER 2025 MATERIALS + PALETTES WE’RE LOVING
As summer 2025 heats up, we’re seeing a shift in the way materials and palettes are used across multifamily spaces. Designers and developers alike are leaning into finishes that feel natural, grounded, and a little unexpected. The common thread? A push toward comfort, contrast, and connection with every detail considered.
At Level Five, we’re always looking ahead. Here’s what’s catching our eye (and showing up in our latest work).
1. Elevated Earth Tones
Think clay, ochre, rust, moss, and sun-washed sand. These tones ground a space while adding warmth and depth. This summer, we’re pairing them with off-whites and soft charcoals to create palettes that feel curated but relaxed.
Where we’re using it: Wallcoverings, lounge furnishings, and exterior textiles with a matte or woven finish.
2. Light Reflective Textures
From brushed metals to glass-infused terrazzo, this season is all about interaction with natural light. These finishes catch the sun by day and shimmer subtly under soft night lighting.
Where we’re using it: Poolside bar backsplashes, lighting elements, and custom millwork details.
3. Unexpected Contrast
Mixing bold marbles with warm woods or soft linens with structured leathers brings tension—and interest. We’re especially into combining high-polish surfaces with ultra-matte finishes for a layered, tactile feel.
Where we’re using it: Amenity lounges, leasing desks, and lobby vignettes.
4. Organic-Inspired Patterns
This trend leans into nature—literally. We’re seeing abstract botanical motifs, striated stone looks, and custom textiles that mimic movement found in water or wind. These patterns add visual softness while staying contemporary.
Where we’re using it: Area rugs, large-scale art, drapery, and even tile layouts.
5. Cool-Climate Blues
While warm tones are thriving, soft blue-greys, eucalyptus, and slate are emerging as grounding accent colors—especially in wellness and co-working zones. They bring calm, clarity, and a refined edge.
Where we’re using it: Wall paint, cabinet fronts, and seating fabrics.
Looking Ahead
Summer 2025 is about designing with intention—using palettes and materials that connect people to place. The goal? Creating spaces that feel both timeless and right now.
At Level Five Designs, we translate trend into strategy—ensuring every finish serves a purpose, reflects the brand, and supports the way residents actually live.
